The first GDC soiree will not go ahead, due to official directions regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. We are very sorry to have to cancel such an exciting event, but we need to prioritize health and safety

The soirees gather UvA researchers and visiting scholars to discuss key publications that trigger debate and inspire new research in the area of global digital cultures. The discussions are followed by drinks and dinner. The objective of these meetings is to stage a lively dialog and stimulate fruitful exchanges between Amsterdam-based researchers, exploring how digitization brings about a transformation of cultural practices and imaginations, as well as institutional relations of markets, infrastructures, and governance. A central question is how these processes take shape in different parts of the world.
